2023 Holistic Holiday Gift Guide
A little note about consumerism before we dive in:
If I am being honest, I often feel overwhelmed by all the social media content encouraging us to buy things CONSTANTLY. It’s easy to get wrapped up in what we “want” or “don’t have” and start comparing ourselves to others.
I am conscious of this especially when sharing links. When I do share a link, it is something I genuinely LOVE and use. My intention is always to share all my holistic wellness practices with you including the products that help me feel good every day. As someone who does content creation as a part time job (full time hopefully one day!), using affiliate links and supporting sponsored content means the world to us smaller creators.
To be more conscious of things that I was buying, I started a wishlist on my phone. I divided it by House and Personal. If I feel I really want something I will put it on my wishlist and wait a bit. If I still want it in a day or week then maybe I will get it or if its more expensive keep it on my wishlist. Sometimes I’m like why would I even want that?! This list can really prevent impulse buys! I hope this helps you too!
This list includes things I use daily (or weekly) in my kitchen and around my home! Enjoy!
KITCHEN / COOKING
Our Place Nontoxic Cookware
We have the Always Pan, Perfect Pot and Always Skillet. I love them all! I find a lot of comfort in knowing that my cookware is nontoxic because we cook at home so much. Honorable mention: the dinner and salad plates. Chic, minimalist.
VITAMIX BLENDER
I have used my vitamix every day since I received it as a birthday gift in 2018. It is the best blender. I’ve never had a problem with it in the last 5 years. I make smoothies, soups, dressings, sauces, protein bites and more in it
COOKBOOKS
I always love a cookbook for Christmas! Here are some of my favorites:
FITNESS
BALA
The ankle weights all over Instagram. And for good reason! The are chic and come in the cutest colors. I have been using the Bala Bangles for years. Recently, I also bought the bands and 3 lb weights. The light weights and bands are great for adding a bit of spice to a Pilates or yoga sculpt class.
Bala code: ABBYHERSAMHEALTH10
HOKAS
I was convinced to buy Hokas years ago before they were trendy! Does that make me cooler? Lol! I wear the Clifton 9 and the Solimars. The Solimars are great for strength training especcially at the gym. I prefer the Clifton9s for walking and daily use.
ALO YOGA
I’ve never received more compliments on a workout set than when I wear this one. It is so flattering!
SELF CARE
OSEA MALIBU
Calling all fellow dry skin girls!! My favorite hydrating body oil and cream. This is the only body oil and lotion that actually leaves my skin moisturized all day. In the summer I do the oil and the lotion. But come fall I swap the lotion for the body butter.
THE TOX
Treat yourself to a detoxifying lymphatic drainage massage! Taking care of your lymphatic system supports your hormones, gut and immune system. You get all those benefits AND a relaxing experience. It’s a win win.
WILDLING BEAUTY
If you’re not local to a Tox studio, you can still take care of your lymphatic system. I use the Wildling Gus sha, body gua sha and the facial cupping it.
SELF CARE SPLURGES
OURA RING
I have been wearing my Oura ring for nearly 2 years. I prefer it over an Apple Watch. I actually ditched my water shortly after falling in love with my Oura ring. The sleep insights are so helpful and fascinating. I have drastically improved my quality of sleep and sleep hygiene over the last 2 years thanks to my ring. Even more, because it also tracks your body temperature, it can keep track of your menstrual cycle. I would never suggest relying on the Oura ring as a birth control method. But it is great to be able to easily track cycle length and symptoms to keep hormones balanced. The only caveat is that it isn’t great at tracking movement and workouts like the Apple Watch. That is fine with me. I only like to track my steps and what workouts I did.
DR DENNIS GROSS RED LIGHT MASK
More and more research is coming out about the positive effects of red light therapy on the skin for collagen production, scarring, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and acne. I had my eye on this mask for years because not only does it have red light but also blue light. The blue light spectrum helps kill acne causing bacteria and inhibits oil production in the skin. For a girl who just turned 30 AND with acne prone skin, this was the LED mask for me. After 2 months of using this mask, I have drastically less breakouts. The fewest I’ve had in YEARS. I am also noticing brightness and texture changes in my skin as well. Overall, this was worth the splurge for me.
