Green Detox Juice

The word detox can be a triggering word for so many. But not here at AH Health. We are never using detox as a way to make ourselves smaller. Juice is never used as a meal replacement. Juices are used as extra nourishment! Green juice has been an essential part of my health and wellness journey from the beginning. When I was struggling with my gut and digestion, it was a great way to get lots of nutrients into my body when eating lots of greens was making my stomach hurt. Yes, at one point even salads were irritating my stomach.

When I was being treated for lyme disease and toxic mold poisoning, my practitioner quickly realized how sluggish my liver and detox pathways were. That’s when I learned about the importance of detox in a holistic way! Supporting detox pathways is an essential part of your overall wellness. It helps with gut health, digestion, regularity, hormone balance, skin health and chronic illness recovery! You can eat allllll the detoxing foods you want. But if your pathways are not functioning properly, those toxins go right back into your system. I will do a deep dive into detox in a blog post soon! It’s one of my favorite topics.

INGREDIENT SPOTLIGHT

Chlorella - wraps around heavy metals and toxins in the body to prevent reabsorption and helps the body eliminate it. Also support energy and mental clarity and can support healthy blood sugar balance.

Ginger - soothing to the GI tract and immunity boosting

Lemon - supports liver detoxification pathways and soothing to GI tract

Cilantro - helps detox heavy metals from the body

Cucumber and Celery - hydrating and helps flush the system

GREEN DETOX JUICE

INGREDIENTS

1 english cucumber

1 head of celery

2 lemons, peeled

1-2 inches of ginger

1 bushel of cilantro

3 tablespoons of chlorella (I use these)

JUICER METHOD

Wash all your produce thoroughly. In a blender, add chlorella tablets and 1 cup filtered water. Blend well. Then set aside. Juice the remaining produce as instructed by your juicer.

I use the Nama Well J2 coldpress juicer. I am obsessed with how easy it is to use and clean. Use code ABBY10 for 10% off your own. (this post is not sponsored but this is link does earn commission).

Once you’ve juiced all the produce. Pour the blended chlorella into the juice and mix. Pour juice in a glass over ice. Garnish with a lemon slice. And enjoy! Store the remaining juice in an airtight jar for up to 2 days.

BLENDER METHOD

Wash all your produce thoroughly. In a blender, add all produe and chlorella in with water up to max fill line. Blend together thoroughly. Then strain using a mesh strainer or cheesecloth. You might have to do this in batches.

Once you’ve strained all the produce. Pour juice in a glass over ice. Garnish with a lemon slice. And enjoy! Store the remaining juice in an airtight jar for up to 2 days.
